The “Waiting for Tonight” singer said that each child from a previous marriage walked down the aisle and sang “The Things We’ve Handed Down.
“Twenty years between the dreams of youth and the adult world of love and family has brought more to this marriage than either of us could have imagined.
“We weren’t just married to each other. We were marrying these kids into new families. They were the only ones who asked us to stand up for us at our wedding reception.” To our great honor and pleasure, each of us has done so.”
However, the weekend didn’t all go off without a hitch. Lopez shared that “all of us” caught his stomach bug in the days leading up to the wedding.
Still, she turned around. All week long we felt a calm and simple assurance that we were in God’s hands…”
The festivities surrounding the stunning wedding spanned three days, with the ceremony kicking off Saturday at Affleck’s sprawling plantation-style mansion in rural Georgia.
Lopez wore three different Ralph Lauren dresses for the occasion. The first dress was a dramatic short-sleeved look featuring more than 1,000 handkerchiefs and his 500 meters of ruffled cut fabric, hand-attached around the skirt and turtleneck collar.
The pair sent guests home with custom-made tote bags emblazoned with “JB.” Lopez and Affleck added a personal touch to each bag by adorning the straps with name tags for every guest attending the Southern Soiree.

After the wedding, Lopez wrote in her newsletter that she, Affleck and her loved ones celebrated with a “savory brunch by the lake,” and she designed the decorations herself.
“We wanted it to have character for every day, but fit in with the weekend setting. The vibe was rustic and rustic country chic,” shared the “Wedding Planner” star.
Ben and J.Lo’s storied romantic history began in 2002 when they met and worked together on the set of the 2003 thriller slash romantic flick Gigli.
By the summer, Lopez had filed for divorce from then-husband Chris Judd. A chain of events developed rapidly, her left hand was conveniently released and she was able to obtain her ring with a 6 carat pink diamond.
The then-engaged couple originally planned to get married in 2003, but chose to postpone their wedding due to “too much media attention”. Bennifer of their time never made it to the altar, as the two publicly announced their breakup in the month.
Shortly thereafter, the two moved in with each other and married another. Lopez married Marc Anthony in 2004, and Affleck told Jennifer Garner “I’m getting married” in 2005.
Lopez and Anthony welcomed twins Emme and Maximilian in 2008. Garner and Affleck, on the other hand, had three children with her: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
Lopez and Affleck’s marriage ended in divorce in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The two have since cycled through numerous relationships over the years, with Lopez ending her engagement to Alex Rodriguez in March 2021.
Shortly afterward, a source told Page Six that Bennifer’s second coming could be underway, and Affleck has been seen in and out of Lopez’s house multiple times.
By April 2022, the two were engaged again. J.Lo then gushed about Affleck’s well-executed proposal in a video sent through her newsletter.
“He gave me a ring and said it was a green diamond. [Green is] It’s my favorite color and it’s also my lucky color,” she gushed. It makes a lot of sense.”
Lopez also told fans that the proposal was “just the most perfect” moment, saying, “I feel so lucky. True love rarely gets a second chance.”
In July, the couple decided to get married at Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. They then embarked on a picture-perfect honeymoon in Paris, where they also celebrated Lopez’s 53rd birthday.
Ryan Wolf, the pastor who oversaw the iconic couple’s Las Vegas wedding, told Page Six in an exclusive interview that he’s officiated over 10,000 weddings, so the newlyweds will be together for the rest of their lives. He said that he acquired a “sense” to become
“Their vows were beautiful and special, and I know they were very important to them. What they shared was a truly special and moving ceremony and moment.”
In Thursday’s newsletter, Lopez reflected on the long road it took for her and Affleck to rekindle their love.
“The truth is, everyone’s story is different and we’re all on our own journeys,” wrote the “Selena” star. “No two people are the same. But for us, this was perfect timing.”
Lopez said she and Affleck “understand loss and joy, never take important things for granted, or let the stupid, insignificant annoyances of the day get in the way of embracing every precious moment.” let me try.
She concludes: That night was truly heaven…”
