Lara, 53, was live on Thursday morning reporting the US Open in New York.

Caster showed off his tennis skills in front of the entrance to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where the championship will be held, including successfully bouncing a tennis ball with his racket.

But someone off-camera decided to throw a curveball at Lara’s confident skills.

A person off camera threw Lara a second tennis ball, which simultaneously bounced off her racket.

Caught off guard, Lara drops the bouncing ball, but quickly picks up a new ball and is saved.

Cecilia claimed, “No one saw that Lara – no one saw it!”

Outside of Lara’s tennis skills, the news anchor had another embarrassing moment on TV earlier last month.

In August, Lara turned away from an excited crowd shouting her name.

Comedian Tom Kelly wowed the live audience with the newscaster’s appearance on stage at the GMA Summer Concert Series.

According to a US Sun reporter in the audience, Lara stood and walked in the middle of an outdoor stage set up in New York City during some test shots.

Fans began rooting for the newscaster, and Tom, the comedian, turned the crowd on.

He shouted into the microphone: “Give up for Lara Spencer!”

When the fans started cheering, Lara didn’t wave or acknowledge that she was excited to see her.

Lara turned her back sharply to Fan.

She took a cold break and walked further up the stage away from the adoring crowd.

Moments later, Lara re-emerged from her backstage hair and makeup setup, ready to go live on camera alongside co-host Sam Champion.
