Chelsea vs. West Ham United, Premier League: previews, team news, how to watch

Thomas Tuchel has spoken out about Chelsea’s new start to the season this weekend. The team is now sober, with all the drama and distractions of the last three months completely behind them, from the ownership transition to the historic transfer window.

But as much as we want to frame it, Chelsea need some sort of reset, a refocus of intent, approach and attitude. is promised, and you won’t win too many games just because you spent a lot of money and said the right thing, but you’re still going through a soft and half-hearted shift.

Chelsea have given up more goals than all but three other teams, scoring less than half the league. It’s not a recipe for success. Not to mention sustainable success.

Chelsea Team News: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has recovered from a broken jaw, and Dennis Zakaria is still dealing with business matters, but Wesley Fofana should be ready to make his debut. Conor Gallagher returns from suspension. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevo Chalobah and Reece James should also be fit again, but N’Golo Kante will be out.

But Chelsea’s problems have less to do with personnel than with the application of effort and execution of ideas, and the aspects that need to be improved the most are (more) difficult to quantify. it won’t be easy. It’s up to us to meet challenges and meet expectations.

west ham United team news: It was a relatively quiet deadline day in East London, but that was largely due to them completing the business in a reasonable amount of time, signing Gianluca Schamakka, Maxwell Cornetto and Thilo Koehler relatively quickly and finishing the window at the end of the day. Because we added Emerson and Lucas Paqueta to the week of. Mark Noble has retired and Andriy Yarmolenko has gone to the UAE for payday, but on paper the team is noticeably stronger from his 7th-place result last year.

Of course, that doesn’t automatically lead to points. West Ham started the season with a losing streak and he beat struggling Aston Villa 1-0 last weekend. His mid-week 1-1 draw with Spurs could mean the Hammers have turned a corner and could be poised to give us pain at Bridge this weekend .

Before: 14 of the last 16 games between these two teams have been decided by goals (or less). That was the case in both games last year. Here we won 1-0 and at West Ham he won 3-2. Christian Pulisic scored the 90th minute winner in late April. Can he get a chance to repeat the trick?
