Serena Williams’ farewell at the US Open took the world of sports and celebrity by storm.
She lost to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round on Friday night, ending her iconic 27-year playing career.
During the tournament, Arthur Ashe Stadium was packed with notable Williams fans, including Mets star Francisco Lindor, golfing legend Tiger Woods, Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and President Bill Clinton.
The admiration continued after Williams’ final race, with an influx of support on social media.
After the game, Williams thanked the cheering crowd.
